National indicator

There are a set of 198 national indicators against which the performance of local authorities are assessed as part the new process of Comprehensive Area Assessment for local government. These indicators were announced by CLGGlossary: is a shortened name for the central government of Communities and Local Government in October 2007. Local authorities’ performance against these 198 indicators will be assessed each year by the Audit Commission.
