WoodsMany local authorities have adopted National IndicatorGlossary: There are a set of 198 national indicators against which the performance of local authorities are assessed as part the new process of Comprehensive Area Assessment for local government NI 195 for Cleanliness (which embraces litter, detritus, graffiti and fly-posting) within their Local Area Agreements. A dedicated website has been set up providing a guide to planning, carrying out and reporting the indicator.

ENCAMS has established a kitemark process for assessing and grading neighbourhoods in line with residents' aspirations for their areas. It is aimed primarily at housing providers but embraces other active local partners as well, and is also appropriate for development trusts, for example.
